Stilton Literary Agency of Finland shuts down
December 09th, 2016
Founded in March 2009 as the first independent literary agency in Finland, Stilton Literary Agency Oy Ab will shut down by the end of January 2017. The agency’s founder Tiina Kristoffersson states that the closure is due to her music theatre work, as Kristoffersson also works as the operative director of Music Theatre Kapsäkki.

”I don’t want to do my work half-heartedly, so it is only just and fair towards my writers and clients that I give up my work as a literary agent. Kapsäkki and the artist members of the cooperative will now get my full professional attention,” says Stilton’s founder and owner Tiina Kristoffersson.

The decision to shut down Stilton Finland has no effect on the activities of other Nordic Stilton agencies.

Over the years, Stilton has formed several translation rights publishing agreements for the authors it has represented. It has been a desired partner among both writers and publishers.

Finland’s Stilton ends its operations on an economically stable base and it will continue to manage the publishing agreements it negotiated even after January.

”I am proud of what Stilton has achieved and of the talented writers Stilton represents. I believe that Stilton has built a good foundation that a new actor on the market can build their activity on,” states Kristoffersson.
